Our 53rd season is about to begin on Thursday, September 4, 2025. We are looking forward to meeting up again with our members, some have been part of Ladies Silver Blades for more than forty years! We are always looking for new members to join us. You can attend any one of our sessions as a guest to check us out.
From 2 ice shows a year, to our always fun Halloween skate, group events and best of all, our connections with fellow skaters, it’s a great organization to be a part of.
We honor all the women that started this group back in 1973 and the 100’s of women who have skated since then. Bonded by a common passion, we all enjoy the time together to learn skills, develop friendships and participate in many social opportunities throughout the year. And we get some exercise! Women from their 20’s to 80’s take to the ice each week.

Our Mission
To provide a safe learning environment for adult women to pursue their enjoyment for figure skating with a professional coach leading the way.
We skate every Thursday morning, September through mid June, at The Biggby Coffee Ice Cube East Lansing – East Lansing, MI from 9:30 am to 11:20 am.
- 2 skating sessions
- Level 1 to learn or work on basic skills
- Level 2 for advanced skills and new techniques
- Freestyle
- Team skating
Participate as much or as little as you like. No one is ever pressured to join in the lessons. Some of us take on the challenge of trying new moves; some of us come just to skate with friends. And all of us enjoy the snack table!

Membership
Regular weekly session run Thursdays, September through mid-June.
Join us for $100 per year, or $50 a half year, plus $5 for ice time each session you attend. For ice time fees, a punch card with reduced rates is available through the ice arena. Skate rental is an additional fee.
Annual dues cover:
- Instruction during each session
- Ice show participation
- Post-show party
- Social events throughout the year
Each member is asked to provide snacks for two sessions per year.
Ladies Silver Blades 
I have just now learned of this and am intrigued! Sounds like it would NOT be a good idea to join now though, but in September 2023. Assume I would not HAVE to be in the Show, right?? That would just terrify me. I love to skate, am not very good but would love to do it more regularly AND possibly learn to skate backwards?! A lifelong dream of mine and I’m 72 🙂

Hello Kathleen, You are certainly welcome to join the second half of the season which runs from January to early June. Dues would be $39 or you can wait until September 2023. You certainly do not have to be in the show! We welcome you to come and try it, if you like, a couple of times prior to joining. Just pay the rink fee of $5 per skate. Hope to see you there.

Will it always be held on Thursdays? I am still working and that is one day I have to work.

Is there an age minimum requirement? I’m 23 and heard about this on Fox47 and became intrigued! Would love to stop by and try it out.
